A complementary option, not a cure<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dementia is an umbrella term: it covers several neurodegenerative conditions, for example Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia. ADHD, by contrast, is a neuropsychiatric condition that may involve attention difficulties, hyperactivity and impulsivity. Mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy (mHBOT) has come into focus in both areas as a possible complementary method \u2013 alongside the usual medical care and therapies, not instead of them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

It is important to be clear: mHBOT does not cure dementia or ADHD, and it does not replace medical care or medication.<\/strong> There is as yet no agreement in the scientific community about the effectiveness of the method, so the treatment should in every case only be considered as a complement, in consultation with a specialist.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The guest stays in a closed chamber where they breathe oxygen-enriched air at a pressure somewhat higher than atmospheric pressure. The treatment is passive, non-invasive and pain-free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does the research say?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The theoretical basis of mHBOT is that a higher oxygen level may affect cerebral blood flow and metabolism. For the time being, however, this is theory: there is no agreement in the scientific community about the effectiveness of the method, and further, larger-scale clinical trials are needed. On the basis of our current knowledge the method is experimental and complementary in nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
